Medicare

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD).

The different parts of Medicare help cover specific services:

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)

Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance)

Part B covers certain doctors' services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.

Medicare Supplements

Medicare Supplement plans cover all or some of what Original Medicare does not cover for Medicare approved services.  Private companies offer standardized plans A,
B, C, D, F, G, K, L, and N.  Typically, plans do not differ from company to company but premiums do.

Peak Insurance Solutions offers a selection of Medicare Supplement plans from highly rated companies such
as Mutual of Omaha, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Heartland National, Medico, Aetna and many more.  We carefully research rates, history of rate increases and the ratings of each company to provide you with sound options that suit your needs.

Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)

Part D adds prescription drug coverage to Original Medicare, some Medicare Cost Plans, some Medicare Private Fee for Service Plans and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans.

These plans are offered by private insurance companies and other private companies approved by Medicare.  Medicare Advantage Plans may also offer prescription drug coverage that follows the same rules as Medicare Prescription Drug Plans.

Hospital Indemnity Plans

Many Seniors enjoy the thought of a $0 premium Medicare Advantage plan but are concerned about the risk of
out-of-pocket expenses that could occur.

Peak Insurance Solutions offers Hospital Indemnity plans that help alleviate the risk of high copays that could make you reach your out-of-pocket limits.  These plans are built to fit with Medicare Advantage plans and exist to reduce the risk of high expenses if you are in the hospital.

Medicare Advantage

A Medicare Advantage plan is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all of your Part A and Part
B benefits.  If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, Medicare services are covered through the plan and aren’t paid for under Original Medicare.  Most Medicare Advantage plans include prescription drug coverage.

Peak Insurance Solutions offers all of the available Medicare Advantage plans available in our service area.  Our consultants will carefully review your situation and advise you on the plans that will be a good fit for you.
